The Monaco Grand Prix is a street circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco. At 3.337 km long with 19 corners, the lap is run 78 times on race day. The circuit first appeared on the Formula 1 calendar in 1950.
Sainte Devote — tight right-hand hairpin at the start of the lap, one of the few overtaking opportunities on the street circuit.
Massenet — sweeping right-hander approaching Casino Square, demanding precision as the road narrows at the top of the hill.
Mirabeau Haute — right-hander descending from Casino Square, requiring careful braking on the steep downhill approach.
Grand Hotel Hairpin (Loews) — the tightest and slowest corner in Formula 1, a right-hand hairpin where cars crawl to around 50 km/h.
Tunnel exit — emerging from the darkness at full speed, drivers must brake hard for the Nouvelle Chicane in one of the most dramatic sequence in racing.
Nouvelle Chicane (left) — second part of the harbour chicane, completed at the edge of the Mediterranean with barriers mere centimetres away.
Swimming Pool (entry) — right-hand entry to the technically demanding Swimming Pool section, built over the Prince's aquatic club.
Swimming Pool (exit) — right-hand exit of the Swimming Pool chicane, setting up the approach to Rascasse.
Rascasse exit — left-hander completing the Rascasse complex, leading onto the short straight toward Anthony Noghes.
Final chicane — last corner before the pit straight, where cars line up bumper to bumper under the Safety Car at the world's most iconic race.
